JOIN THE CHAMPIONS FOR LIFE! Mountain Region Donor Services is grateful that we have a group of active volunteers who promote organ and tissue donation through a variety of activities and greatly enhance the effectiveness of our Public Education Department. We would love to have YOU join our team! WHO ARE THE CHAMPIONS FOR LIFE? Volunteers come from all walks of life, with many different skills and talents, but they have one thing in common--a strong commitment to donation and a desire to help others. Some are donor family members, some are recipients, others are friends and family members who simply believe strongly in our mission and wish to get involved. WHAT DO THE CHAMPIONS FOR LIFE DO? The many areas of volunteer interest are listed below:

19 “Wrap-Fest” at Bristol
Motor Speedway 9:00am-? MRDS staff and volunteers will be wrapping brochures
around our promotional items in preparation for our booth at the races. Aug.
21 Booth at Food City Family
Race Night-State Street, Bristol from 1:00 – 9:00 pm Aug. 22, 23 Booth at Bristol Motor Speedway Aug. 22 Booth Time: 10:00am – 8:00 pm Aug. 23 Booth Time: 10:00am – 8:00 pm
*Due to parking and security issues, only 1-2 volunteers can assist with this
event and staff/volunteers must be at the booth the entire time the booth is
open. The booth is located outside the track so viewing the race is not a
possibility. Please consider these factors when making your decision about
this volunteer opportunity. Aug.
26,27,28 Booth at The College Store on Walnut Street in Johnson City
(opportunity to educate ETSU students) Booth Times: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm September
School program scheduling--follow-up telephone calls (calls can be made either
from your home or from MRDS’ office). Early
October Volunteers will be needed to help make follow-up telephone calls to area
churches regarding National Donor Sabbath Weekend in November (calls can be made
either from your home or from MRDS’ office). Nov
20 – Jan 1 Fundraising/Education Opportunity for MRDS at Speedway in
Lights at Bristol Motor Speedway. Volunteers are needed every Thursday
night from 5:30 – 10:00 pm during this time period. If you can spare a
Thursday night, we could sure use your help! We are ALWAYS in need of CHAMPIONS FOR LIFE. If you would like to join our team, simply contact Jennifer or Kim toll-free at 1-888-562-3774 and request a volunteer application.
