In 2002, MRDS staff and volunteers partnered with Bristol Motor Speedway for “Speedway in Lights”, a holiday light show with millions of lights. The proceeds of Speedway in Lights benefit area children’s charities. The event ran from late November through early January and attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors. Thursday nights were designated “Organ and Tissue Donor Night”. Visitors to the event received information about donation and MRDS received a check for $2,419.81, which is a portion of the proceeds, to be used to increase organ and tissue donation awareness. We are grateful to BMS staff and our many volunteers for their support in this effort and WE INVITE YOU to join us for Speedway in Lights 2003. Eight volunteers from Mountain Region Donor Services are needed each night. Available dates are every Thursday night from November 20th through January 1st from 5:30 - 10:00 pm.
