1760 Creekside Oaks Dr Suite 160 Sacramento, CA 95833 (916)569-0200 Sierra Eye and Tissue Donor Services (SETDS) is the newest addition to DCIDS, joining the company in July of 1996. Sierra is headquartered in Sacramento, California and provides eye and tissue donation services in northern California. SETDS also has an office in Reno which provides service to all of northern Nevada. Founded in 1975 by Lions 4-C5, the Northern California Lions Sight Association and the University of California at Davis department of ophthalmology, SETDS was originally known as the Sacramento Valley Lions Eye Bank. Services were expanded during the 1980s to include musculoskeletal, skin, cardiovascular and cartilage banking. SETDS has also adopted the DCIDS methodology for hospital services and education with the appointment of 2 full time hospital development coordinators to serve their region. Referrals, donation and relationships have flourished under the new direction. SETDS works in conjunction with Golden State Donor Services to coordinate eye, organ and tissue donors between the two agencies. Additionally, both agencies work together on public education efforts. The Medical Director of SETDS is Mark Mannis, M.D. and Ivan Schwab, M.D. serves as the associate Medical Director of this program. Thomas Komadina, M.D. serves as the associate Medical Director of the northern Nevada office. |
