The Quality Services departments within DCIDS audits all donor charts and referral information to ensure that all policies and procedures are properly followed. Any occurrences are reported to the Quality Assurance committees, which meet routinely to determine appropriate outcomes. When all information is deemed suitable, the charts are forwarded to the Medical Director for final review. The Executive Director and/or his designee completes the appropriate sign-offs before the charts are archived, or in the case of tissue, prior to release for transplantation. All medical records in the DCIDS system are housed appropriately and only controlled access is permitted. The DCIDS quality assurance effort ensures that both organ and tissue services are in compliance with all DCIDS policies and procedures, as well as national standards and federal regulations. Additionally, DCIDS has standardized all organ and tissue policies and procedures for all locations. These policies are reviewed and updated annually. |
