Blake cared enough… Blake’s liver was
transplanted into a sixty-four year old gentleman from the west Tennessee area.
He is married, with four grown children and seven grandchildren, all of whom
expressed their gratitude in writing to Blake’s family. He enjoys snow
skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He has fully
recovered since his transplant. One
of Blake’s kidneys and his pancreas were transplanted together into a
fifty-six year old gentleman, also from the west Tennessee area. This
organ transplant combination is often used to cure diabetes and the kidney
failure it sometimes causes in one surgery. This recipient owns a body
shop and enjoys automobile restoration, sports, basketball and his being active
in his church. His transplants were a success. Blake’s other kidney was given to a forty-five year old gentleman from Louisiana. He was too ill to remain employed, but enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. His transplant also went very well. |
